Harbin University of Science and Technology (HRBUST) is the largest province-owned engineering university in Heilongjiang Province, located in the Ice City of Harbin — a picturesque city in the northeast of China.
The university was founded in the early 1950s, and after more than half a century's development HRBUST has become a university of sciences and engineering whose characteristic disciplines are machinery and electrical power with eight groups of harmoniously developing disciplines: philosophy, economy, laws, pedagogy, arts, sciences, engineering and management. In 2003, HRBUST was appraised as an "A Level University" by the State Ministry of Education for its excellent undergraduate education.
